Name: Hudson Community Education: Sinrin-Yoku: A Wellness Practice of Mindfullness & Meditation with Nature
Date: June 8, 2025
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

In this class, participants will learn through experience the health and wellness benefits of the art of Shinrin-Yoku, also known as the Japanese practice of Forest Bathing or Eco-Therapy.

In our first gathering, we will be guided in the practices of meditation with nature including a sensory awareness practice, grounding exercise and a tea meditation. Our second gathering will focus on the mindfulness aspects of Shinrin-Yoku including light yoga stretches or mindful movement and the practice of mindful walking. After each session, participants will receive suggestions on how to continue their practice at home. All of this in preparation for our final session during which we will gather outdoors for a full, guided Shinrin-Yoku practice with nature.

For the first two sessions, students are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, pillow, or camp chair.
